THIRTY

This week I turned thirty. I am happy to report that I feel fine and I haven't shed one tear. I am going to embrace my maturity and now that I am in my thirties maybe people really will finally take me seriously when I tell them I've seen a UFO (which I have, in case you are wondering...).

My wonderful friend Melissa Maxwell invited me and some friends "to tea" to celebrate my birthday. If you want to see her slide show here's a link to her blog.

Thank you for the tea, Melissa! It was delightful.

The Presents Left Behind

These three little cloth dolls were for Sophie, Syrena and Naomi for Christmas. But with the play kitchen and the fake food and the books and the hot pink cowgirl boots, these dolls never even had a chance. So they stayed at the back of the tree until Christmas afternoon when I finally scooped them up and put them back in their hiding place. Perhaps they will appear on Valentines day or a birthday...or whenever the time seems right. With gifts I think timing is everything, and their time will come soon... for now I'll just let you enjoy them. (They each have two dresses, a blanket, a pillow, a nightgown and apron and a petticoat. Doesn't it just make you want to be four again?)

Tea With The Queen

Jessica came to visit us for a week and she hosted Sophie and Syrena to "Tea With The Queen" with their new teaset. It was very fun to watch. Doesn't she make a lovely queen?

Turkeyboy's Creation

Check out this backpacking hammock that turkeyboy created. He has spent hours at the sewing machine and on hammock blogs designing it. (One of his hammock blog buddies wrote,"Think of the sewing machine as just another power tool." Thanks to this project, I now come Scott for sewing advice.)
Don't let its simplicity fool you...there are all kinds of physics and engineering that go into a masterpiece like this.
And yes, it is very comfortable.
