An Offer....

The University of Michigan has offered Scott a job! We are excited about this, even though Scott isn't finished with his interviews. If Scott accepted this offer we'd live in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Here is a map just in case you don't know where that is.

Some interesting facts about Ann Arbor:
It was named after the wives of the two founders (both of their wives were named Ann)
It is the home of Dominos Pizza headquarters
It has a 123 acre nature preserve called the Nichols Arboretum
Ann Arbor has very lenient marijuana laws and celebrates a "Hash Bash" every year.
The University of Michigan was named the "#4 Business School with Best Career Prospects" by the Princeton Review.

I would include a song on my playlist about Michigan, but I don't think people write songs about Michigan. That's okay, though... they don't write songs about Idaho, either.

  1. Hash Bash, here I come! Isn't there a song about Detroit somewhere?

  2. Have you heard of Sufjan Stevens? He wrote a whole album about Michigan! It's really good, too.

Sufjan is working on writing an album for each state. His Christmas collection was my favorite for the past two Decembers. I have no other comments about Michigan at this particular time. Except hide your children on MaryJane Day!

  3. That is so exciting! We lived in Grand Rapids, MI for two years when I was a girl and I have such great memories. It's a GREAT place for kids, the snow, the lakes...fun!

  4. Chels,
I'm glad you have one offer-I pray for the best for your family. I guess you have two songs to compose maybe. Idaho for sure and maybe Michigan!

  5. Hey wait a minute. Isn't Idaho mentioned in that folk song, THIS LAND IS YOUR LAND? Michigan has to be mentioned in there too, right? hehe

Ann Arbor is very cool - we like it a lot!
