A Day in the Life of a Dyreng Kid

It is morning.

Time to get to work!

First they weed the front garden.

They get dirty.

Many weeds are slain.

 What? More jobs?

Baby brother takes the first of his five daily naps.

But it is lunch time for everybody else!

Then it is out to play.

There is nothing like a fresh new pack of sidewalk chalk. Naomi makes a town for Dan.

Sophie and Syrena create an obstacle course.

Someone wakes up!

The girls go play at a friend's house, so it is time for Dan to ride.

A wooden bike today, a motorcycle tomorrow.

A fast motorcycle...

...to get away from all the girls that will be chasing him.

Then it is time for errands. First stop:

Mmm. This is my kind of errand.

Next stop, the greatest thrill in Chapel Hill: the automatic car wash.

We come home and the girls go lizard-catching.

They caught this one, but no one can figure out if it is dead or alive. It twitches. That is all.

Then it is dinnertime.

Yes, pancakes for dinner. Don't judge me.

And finally we sit down and watch some good old fashioned entertainment.

It is just as good as it was when I was a kid.

Then it is time for bed.

Busy day, happy day.

All is well.
